Depth Of Field
In the fourth shooting assignment in Digital Photography, the class was tasked to create photos using different types of depth of field Depth of field refers to how blurry or sharp the area is around your subject. The two types used in this assignment were shallow depth of field as well as large depth of field. Shallow depth of field can be defined as a small area in focus. While large depth of field is a larger area in focus, as it keeps more of the image sharp and clear. Shallow depth of field is created by using a larger more open aperture while the effect for a large depth of field photo is created through the use of a smaller, more closed aperture. During this shooting assignment the biggest challenge that Grant faced was finding good subjects for both types of photographs as well as finding the correct amount of light for the photos. His favorite photo is the second to last photo because he likes the composition and the color and he also likes the third photo because he enjoys the aesthetic that it invokes.
